Trama Alla morte Nawal's mother, the twins Jeanne and Simon are called by the notary Marwan Lebel for the reading of the will. CRITICISM "The admirable film by Denis Villeneuve, another name to write down, avoid the traps of this nature with a steady gaze to drag us into a maelstrom of horror and revelations that leave you breathless characters and spectators. Would be a crime to disclose it, suffice it to say (. ..) that la chiave di questa vicenda familiare contorta come una tragedia greca sta nella spirale inarrestabile di odii e rappresaglie che insanguina il Libano (ma il discorso vale per qualsiasi guerra). Villeneuve non ci risparmia nulla ma non calca la mano, non specula su violenza e atrocità, anzi trova sempre la giusta distanza. Insistendo sui segni che il tempo ha lasciato sul paese e sui personaggi. E su una cornice intellettuale - Jeanne è una matematica di talento - che rende ancora più crudele quel caos ingovernabile. Altro che 'trucchi da cinema d'azione' dunque, come ha sentenziato qualche facilone! Siamo su un terreno altissimo, capace di unire sangue e astrazione, il tumulto dei corpi e il lavorio incessante dell'intelligenza e della pietà. To save the family and find out what happened to his father, Ree will endanger his own life, bumping against a wall of silence, lies, deception and threats.
CRITICAL "Film brave, awkward, without emergency exits, first Oscar after winning in Turin. It deserves Lawrence, 17 year old that in the mountains Missouri drug dealer looking for his father disappeared and immolated to the family. Debra Granik frames a tribal community of ragged monsters without discounts, is worse in winter. Nature is a mirror, neorealism American country, a writer named Anne Rossellini (with an L).
