Proposta che fa infuriare il Comitato dei residenti della provincia di Novara che da anni si battono contro lo sviluppo dell' hub varesino. «Queste richieste protestano i piemontesi verranno poste al nuovo governo e, a quanto sembra hanno l' avvallo dei vertici di Sea, del Comune di Milano e della Regione Lombardia». Ed è anche contro il Pirellone e il suo presidente, infatti, che si scaglia il Covest: «Formigoni non pensa ad altro che all'espansione di Malpensa, ben sapendo che i maggiori disagi vengono scaricati sui cittadini piemontesi dell' Ovest Ticino che, ovviamente, non votano nella sua regione».
